South Sudan, officially known as the Republic of South Sudan, is a landlocked country in east/central Africa. It is bordered by Ethiopia, Sudan, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda and Kenya.
The economy of South Sudan is one of the most oil dependent economies in the world, despite being endowed with bountiful natural resources. It has a very fertile agricultural land and vast number of livestock. The livestock include over 60 million cattle, sheep and goats. Political instability, poor governance, and corruption continue to hinder development in the world’s youngest country.
The Judiciary in South Sudan is a complex structure consisting of constitutionally established government courts, which base their adjudication on statutes, and customary courts, which are presided over by traditional authorities and rule according to the customary laws of their respective ethnic groups.
