Senegal, officially the Republic of Senegal, is a country in West Africa. Senegal is bordered by Mauritania in the north, Mali to the east, Guinea to the southeast, and Guinea-Bissau to the southwest.
The economy of Senegal is driven by mining, construction, tourism, fishing and agriculture, which are the main sources of employment in rural areas, despite abundant natural resources in iron, zircon, gas, gold, phosphates, and numerous oil discoveries recently.
Senegal is a relatively decentralised[1] civil law country with three branches of government, the executive, legislature and judiciary, which share in the state powers. According to Senegalese Constitution,[2] which is the supreme law of the land, the country is a liberal democratic republic.
